Pastoral counseling offers emotional and spiritual support for individuals navigating difficult seasons, relational struggles, grief, anxiety, spiritual questions, or emotional exhaustion.
It provides a compassionate and supportive space to process what you're experiencing, explore questions, develop healthy ways of coping, and move toward greater clarity and well-being. For those who desire it, faith and spiritual reflection can be part of the counseling process—but they are never required.

Pastoral counseling is not the same as psychotherapy or clinical mental health treatment. I am a pastoral counselor and am not a licensed mental health clinician.
My work focuses on emotional support, spiritual care, personal growth, healthy boundaries, life transitions, grief, and the ways faith and life experiences can affect our sense of well-being.
There may also be times when a person's needs are better served by a licensed mental health professional or another provider. If that becomes apparent, I will be open about that and encourage you to seek the level of care that best supports your needs.

No. People from a variety of faith backgrounds — including those who feel uncertain, disconnected, questioning, or hurt by past religious experiences — are welcome.

You do not need to have everything figured out spiritually before reaching out for support.
Many people seek counseling while wrestling with difficult questions, painful church experiences, changing beliefs, or feelings of confusion surrounding faith. Counseling offers space to explore these experiences honestly and without judgment.

Areas of support may include:
spiritual abuse and religious trauma
anxiety and emotional exhaustion
grief and loss
life transitions
shame and perfectionism
relationship struggles
faith and spiritual questions
identity and self-worth concerns

That is completely understandable.
Many people begin counseling feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or afraid their experiences will not be understood. You do not need to have perfect words or complete clarity before reaching out. The first step is simply allowing yourself space to be supported.

You are welcome here. Safe Harbor is a place where painful religious experiences can be talked about openly without minimizing what happened, defending an institution, or pressuring you toward a particular spiritual conclusion.
